| A |  | The “differentia” is on the GT-5020, GT-5010V and GT-7020 models. The differentia number is the number of degrees F below the target temperature that the AUXILIARY heat shuts off. The best setting for a mild climate is 4F so the heat pump is doing most of the heating. In a cold climate, 2 is the best setting because the heat pump may not be able to keep up and or may quit in severely cold climates.
